Playing at Duffield
Whatever your level, there are plenty of opportunities to play tennis at Duffield:
Social tennis is at the heart of club life. Members of any ability can come along to regular social sessions and mix in and play with whoever is there on the day. These are usually doubles, played in a relaxed social atmosphere. However, everyone, of course, still likes to win!
Box leagues also operate - sign up on the notice board at the clubhouse if you would like to join in the men's ladies' or mixed league.
Friendly matches are also organised by members, playing singles or doubles, sometimes as 'fixed fours'. Arranging these matches at quieter times will ensure you get a court more easily.
Team Tennis
We enter men’s, ladies’ and mixed teams in the Derbyshire Area Summer League. We also enter teams into the AEGON National Club League and the Winter Indoor League at Derby Tennis Centre. Duffield has always included county tennis players among their members and, at present, the membership includes county players in all age groups.
All standards are catered for as our teams play in divisions 1-6. Captains are always pleased to receive additions to their squads so anyone interested in playing for a team should contact the secretary or the team captains. Summer match practice usually starts in late March (Tuesday for ladies, Wednesday for mixed and Thursday for men) and matches run from April through to July.
